Get The Right Health Insurance For Your Time In Canada

Getting health insurance coverage through Medi-Quote is smart when traveling to Canada. Our knowledgeable and experienced travel insurance brokers can help you choose the coverage that’s right for you, whether you are:

  • Visiting as a tourist
  • Seeking employment as a temporary foreign worker
  • A New Canadian who must wait to get benefits under the Canadian Government Health Insurance Plan (GHIP)
  • Parents and grandparents applying to visit under Canada’s 2-year super visa program

Super Visa Applicant Insurance Requirements

If you are applying for a super visa through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you will have to get travel health insurance that meets the following requirements:

  • The plan covers health care, hospitalization, and repatriation.
  • The maximum payout must be at least $100,000.
  • The coverage must be continuous for 365 days, even if the applicant chooses to come and go from Canada.
  • There is no minimum deductible required. A deductible is what the applicant has to pay if they make a claim. Plans include deductible options, but we recommend $0.00 for the best protection.
  • Refunds are available if the applicant is denied entry into Canada or they choose to leave before one year.
  • Must include confirmation of insurance documentation for review by a port-of-entry officer.

We understand the IRCC requirements and know which plans meet them. We also take the time to learn about your specific health needs to make sure you’re covered if you need medical care.
